Beez Please has been re-naturalizing spaces in Winnipeg, one yard at a time, since the fall of 2022 and has been experimenting with strategies to reclaim spaces taken over by well-established invasive species, without the use of herbicides and pesticides. In their place, we have been planting native and naturalized species beneficial to pollinators and other beneficial insects, as well as food-producing trees and shrubs. We strive to help our customers nurture ecosystems by making it an available and accessible option.

Beez Please operates as a for-profit entity, owned by an incorporated social enterprise. In part, this is to showcase a successful business model that prioritizes human and ecological well-being over profit. In part, this is to ensure that folks requiring assistance and expertise in healing their community's ecosystems need not resort to obtaining it from the very companies most complicit in damaging them. We are not only landscapers, but are also advocates, activists, and concerned community members.

We are native plant proponents. Because fostering native plants and advocating for them is an act of decolonization. Because caring about native plants gives rise to valuing Indigenous ways of life. Because breaking the status quo is the least we can do. Because we are allies and accomplices in reconciliation, and for us, that's about standing strong beside all our relations. Because our families and our friends need us.

Because it's the right thing to do.
